REFLECTIVE JOURNAL-SECOND WEEK
WEEK 2{11/11/2019 - 15/11/2019}
As per time table,I didn't had any classes on Monday.On Tuesday,went to 5A class as substituition.In the afternoon,organised Shasthraposhini Physics lab as per Susan Teachers instruction.On Wednesday,I took the portion Properties of metals-thermal conductivity,electrical conductivity,malleability and ductility in fifth period at VIII C.Showed the images of aluminium foil as example of malleability,tungston filament in electric bulb as example of ductility,metallic vesels for thermal conductivity and copper wire for electrical conductivity.An incomplete table showing metals,uses and properties was given as the follow up activity.All students participated in learning activities.On Thursday,I taught properties of metals-sonority,metallic lustre,hardness,high melting point and boiling point in third period at VIII C.Students were asked to tap on an instrument box and a wooden piece with a steel spoon to understand about the concept sonority.The exception to hardness exhibited by most of the metals was shown by the example of cutting sodium metal with a knife.The concept of metallic lustre was shown by rubbing an old copper wire with a sandpaper and a freshly cut piece of sodium metal.Students were given application level experience and an incomplete table showing the use and properties of metals was given as the follow up activity.On Friday,I didnt had any classes.Helped teachers at school in organizing textbooks and visited school library.In the afternoon,performed some experiments at chemistry lab which are to be taught in the next week.
